Purification ritual in Tirumala temple kitchens amid Tirupati laddu row

Must read

On September 23, the Tirumala temple board decided to do purification rituals in all kitchens by doing ‘Mahashanti Yagam’.

The board said, “A Mistake has already been made by offering adultered ghee laddu prasadam to Tirupati diety.”

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu recently made Tirumala Laddu test reports public. It was confirmed that the ghee used for making parasadam was prepared by mixing fish oil, beef tallow, and lard. This incident hurt the religious sentiments of lakhs of Hindu people who visit Tirumala temple.

The current TDP government blames the previous YSR congress government for this act because previously Y.V. Subba Reddy was the Executive Officer of TTD (Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam) and he is also an uncle of former CM Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

The current TDP government blames the Jagan Mohan Reddy that when the price of pure ghee is around Rs. 800-1000 all over India then how previous government was purchasing it at Rs. 320.

In response to these allegations, Jagan Mohan Reddy said to the media that test reports came in July then why Chandrababu Naidu is showing those reports in September. He mentioned that this whole incident is politically motivated and there was no such kind of thing in his government.

On September 23, the TTD Board decided to perform a purification ritual in all the kitchens after changing the ghee vendor. The petition of this case is now in the Supreme Court and N. Chandrababu Naidu has also made an SIT committee for the fast investigation of this case.

This whole incident made Hindu people angry and we are yet to see their response on purification rituals. Yet to see, if they will be able to trust the purity of ingredients used in making prasadam after the purification ritual.
