The Union Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju accused the opposition of misleading Muslims by spreading baseless statements that if the Waqf Amendment Bill 2024 is passed in the parliament then their mosque and graveyard properties will be snatched by the government.

Kiren Rijiju also mentioned that the government will present the Waqf Amendment Bill 2024 in the parliament tomorrow, 2nd April.

Waqf Amendment Bill

He requested Muslims to identify leaders who pass baseless statements and misguide innocent people in the same way the CAA was about to present in the parliament.

At the time of CAA most of the Muslim leaders misguided common people that if this bill were passed in the parliament then they might lose their rights in the country and we saw wide protests all over the country.

Some Muslim people also mentioned the point that the Waqf Amendment Bill 2024 is unconstitutional because all the Waqf rules and its provisions have been in existence since independence.

But they didn’t understand that if some laws or rules are made that doesn’t mean that they will be valid till eternity, with time they need amendments, which are always based on the current situation.

Many of the people in India suffered from the Waqf Board when Waqf people suddenly told them that this is the Waqf land and to counter them they could not knock on the door of the court, they have to go to Waqf Board Court to prove that the land doesn’t belong to Waqf.

There are so many people who are suffering from Waqf irrespective of religion and it will interesting to see what amendments the government going to make after presenting Waqf Amendment Bill 2024 in the parliament to help innocent people.
