Uttar Pradesh’s Madrasa education system has been in the news for the last two years after the government ordered a survey to identify unrecognized Madrasas and those involved in irregular activities.
In the last two months, 219 FIRs have been registered in Azamgarh district against non-existing Madrasas that have been drawing U.P government aid regularly for years.
The FIR was registered after the Economic Offences Wing conducted a probe and informed authorities about irregularities. The Superintendent of Police, Hemraj Meena has confirmed that 219 cases have been registered in 22 districts against non-existing madrasas who are drawing aid.

This is the big question mark on the U.P. government’s functioning and vigilance because the free aid given to people who have registered non-existing madrasas might be utilizing this money in illegal activities such as stone pelting, Hindu-Muslim riots, influencing elections and various other illegal activities.
After every riot, this has been found that the money was given to poor people to gather at particular places and create disturbance and that is also known as organized crime.
The government should be more vigilant with their aid so that these types of crimes can be stopped and the people’s hard-earned money in the form of taxes can be utilized in a better way.
